The One Where My Heart Is Full

I know I still need to update you on the race I ran (post coming tomorrow!) and I have to update you on my weekly workouts, and I also want to do a wedding post detailing what’s already been planned and decided but today I just have to share this:

L-R: Me, Darcey, Andrea, Greg

Those 3 people right there are my best friends in the whole world and I love them more than life itself!

Darcey, Andrea and I have known each other our whole lives; in fact Andrea’s dad and my dad were friends when they were in high school. Darcey and I homeschooled together for many, many years and the three of us go way back.

Greg joined our little group sometime in middle school and through all of junior high and high school the three of us were inseparable. We know each other through church and I could not be more blessed with these three as my friends.
We have been through so much together; divorces, deaths in the family, poor finances, bad relationships, church camp, mission trips, birthdays, graduations, weddings, etc.

Greg and Andrea are married now and Darcey married another one of our life-long church friends as well. But we all live in different cities and we are all busy with life so sadly we don’t see each other all that often. I know we should stay in touch better than we do but honestly with these three it doesn’t matter if it’s been 2 days, 2 months or 2 years, we pick right back up where we left off.

Well on Sunday night Darcey and I were talking because she heard I was engaged and wanted to congratulate me and she casually mentioned that she was in town. I just knew I had to see her no matter what so we planned dinner for the next night. I then sent Andrea a text because they don’t live all that far and wouldn’t you know we were able to work out dinner plans!

All day Monday I just kept thinking that my heart was so full and my blessing in my life are overflowing.

The few hours that we got to spend together on Monday night were absolutely amazing; they were a perfect gift from God. I left feeling so blessed and so full of God’s love in my life; my cup truly does runneth over (Psalm 23:5).

You know that pin about getting upset when you hear someone else call your best friend their best friend? It came to mind, but it doesn't apply ;) I'm glad you have these friends and were able to catch up with them this week! You guys have been through a lot together. I definitely understand the feeling of your cup running over with love and good things :)

I'm glad that pin doesn't apply - there are best friends for every season of life, they just happen to be my oldest best friends :). And it is so nice to feel so blessed, God is good!
