My Purpose

Hebrews 12:1-3
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

One of my most favorite passages in the whole Bible; Hebrews 12 follows the "faith" chapter. As a Christian it is so humbling to read that chapter in the Bible and think that those people are surrounding you in your own walk of faith. They have gone before us and fought a good fight. This passage speaks to me in such volume because I have spent the past several years being hindered by sin. But God is so good and allowed me to be able to break free from that entanglement. And now I am running! I am running with perseverance the race God marked for ME! It's so amazing to me to think that God loved me enough to give me a path of freedom and to give me the courage and strength to just run. I am done running away from the things that are hard and that I am afraid of. Instead, I'm going to run forward toward the reward God has for me. I'm trading my sorrows. And I'm trading my shame. And I'm laying them down for the glory of the Lord. So now I am off and running.....
